This piece was exhibited and sold on the first day of the ALT Philippines 2020 Show. The show is a pioneer collaborative project of 10 galleries seeking to reframe the art show.

It is a collaborative work between Visual Artist Josephine Turalba, known for her work using bullets and our own Lara K.

The Mahjong table apron was hand painted by Josephine while the Table and chairs designed by Lara. The leather on the outer back of the chairs and were also hand sculpted by Lara., depict rifle target sights.

The set includes Mahjong Chips, which Josephine designed, and which may actually be used to play the game with. Each chip represents various themes with filipino characters and symbols of war.

Individual 24 Karat gold plated bullets were used to secure the velvet and leather upholstery and the furniture feet resemble rifle bullets.

The purple colour represents the Purple heart medal awarded to Hero’s during war time.
